Photo Contest Details

The contest is open to anyone who anyone who wants to test their fire forensic photo skills and knowledge

Photos may be entered in one of three categories described below with a 25 word or less explanation of the photo. The explanation will be displayed with the photo on the internet and photos will be judged by viewers.

Categories

Vehicle - Forensic photos that involve a vehicle fire or explosion

Structural - Forensic photos that involve a structural fire or explosion

Other - Forensic photos that involve a fire or explosion but do not qualify under the other two categories.

  • Entries are welcome between May 27 and the September 23rd deadline.
  • IAAI will publish entries received before June 23rd in the Arson Reporter.
  • The latest date for entering the contest is September 30th.
  • Voting ends on December 31st.Early entries are encouraged.
  • Viewers can judge between September 30th and Dec. 31st
  • No composite photos are permitted. The only editing that is permitted is to correct lightness and darkness and it must be mentioned in the caption.
  • Entry into the contest implies permission for IAAI to print and publish the photo.
  • higher resolution images are preferred, 300 dpi is much better than 72 dpi
